SundanceTV and BBC Worldwide Collaborating on Original Scripted Mini-Series 'One Child'

SundanceTV premiered "The Red Road" this year, and is adding to its slate with "One Child." James Minchin/SundanceTV

SundanceTV has just announced production of the new scripted original four-hour mini-series "One Child." Written by Guy Hibbert ("Complicit," "Five Minutes in Heaven"), it will star Katie Leung ("Harry Potter") as a "Chinese-born young woman adopted by British parents" who "struggles with who she really is in order to decide where her loyalty lies."

According to SundanceTV President Sarah Barnett, the series, which shoots in both London and Taiwan, "will take viewers on a very immersive journey across borders." He continued, "We're excited to add it to our 2014 scripted drama slate, accompanying 'The Red Road,' 'Rectify' and 'The Honorable Woman.'"

SundanceTV will be once again collaborating with BBC Worldwide, with which it co-produced the recent "Top of the Lake"-- a critical hit that won numerous awards and was easily one of the best series of 2013. Meanwhile, another collaboration, the upcoming "The Honorable Woman," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, will be premiering in the second half of 2014.
