'Being Human' Cancelled by SyFy, but Not Before Cast Can Say 'Thank You' to Fans

The SyFy network has cancelled "Being Human" after four season. The drama will air its final six episodes with a series finale arriving April 7th. The supernatural series was adapted from a British original that lasted five seasons.

Deadline quoted the network as saying, "Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series' production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work. They've saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story's beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora."

SyFy also distributed a video of the cast thanking the fans and saying what they would miss about making the show. Take a look for yourself below and catch the last episodes of "Being Human" on Mondays at 9 on SyFy.

Jackie the show was about people who happened to be werewolves, vampires and ghost. They had all the problems of other people plus the additional of being supernatural. I am sick of SCIFI. I just realized it was over while watching the last episode. This channel is going to hell and they must think we are all eaters of excrement, why else do they take a big dump on us. I am tired of crap shows like CSI "wherever" and its unimaginative redundancy get 22 episodes and 15 years of the same crap. Yet for people like me who watch TV for what it is for and that is fantasy get 10 episodes and 2 seasons during the F'ing summer when you would rather be outside. SYFY you can eat a bucket of sh*t sticks. I HAVE HAD IT WITH YOU!!!

Sad to see it go but like all great shows, it had to end sometime. I am not giving up on the network though. Face Off is a good show as well as Helix.

As a viewer that has watched this show since the VERY FIRST EPISODE and has never missed an episode, I am VERY disappointed with SyFy and it's decision to cancel Being Human. I too, along with my friends and family will be unplugging SyFy after the last episode of Being Human. If SyFy should decide to bring the series back then I will once again tune in, but until then this relationship is over.

I 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th JACKIE'S comment. I just learned of the cancellation of the Being Human series while watching this passed episode and my family and I are HEATED. SyFy has been a family favorite in our family for over a decade. Being Human is recorded on every DVR in the house as well as the homes of our friends and extended family. This news is incredibly heartbreaking. We also tried to watch Lost Girl but lost intrest early in the 2nd season. After learning the news about being human we have all come to a consensus that we will no longer be viewing SyFy.

WHY?! My all time favorite show. I just started watching it this season. I can't believe it's being cancelled. (I watched the other seasons online) Just went I finally found a good show.

Is there anyway this show can stay on??

Why on earth is the network doing this? It is so, so sad to see this show cancelled - Being Human has been my favorite show from the first episode, and my family rushes home on Monday nights to see it. The show is not just about vampires and werewolves and ghosts, but rather is an excellent story about humans striving to better themselves, rise above the hard things they've been handed in life, all the while living together and helping each other even though each is so different and their creature groups at odds with each other. It is both uplifting and heart wrenching at the same time. There are so many other stories to be told in this series, and so many avenues they can still go down. I can't believe how short-sighted this decision is, and how detrimental to a huge number of fans.

The line-up on Mondays is truly competitive, and that may have been a factor. However, we record three shows any given Monday in and around the Being Human time slot. In all honesty, I'd give up any one of the others to keep Being Human.

I heard absolutely nothing about it facing cancellation before the announcement was made. Frankly, I would have expected them to cancel Lost Girl long before Being Human, since that has basically such a shallow and predictable story line. Other networks have made major mistakes in programming in the past which they have greatly regretted - the old Star Trek and Firefly series are two examples of bad programming changes. SyFy would do well to ask their viewers in general for their opinion before cancelling shows.

There are so few really entertaining shows left, in my opinion. I will have little reason to tune to SyFy once the last episode has aired.

I actually just got into this show about a month ago but I already caught up on all the past seasons. I really love this show now and I can't imagine why they would want to cancel it. I think it's a huge mistake also.. :(

I've watched every episode of this series. I haven't seen the UK version to bias me against this either. With that said, this series went downhill from season 2. The plots became outlandish, especially Sally's. And the acting has been abysmal. I knew that Aiden character's acting was questionable when he was on Smallville, but my god, this is your craft man! Work on it! I really saw promise the first season. I thought it was going to have a Dead Like Me vibe, but
after Sally said "F my door" it just became ridiculous. It was just a poorly written show that I stuck with because I started it.

The UK was good up until they killed Mitchel(Aiden's English counter part). At that point I just quit.

Dang ! Too bad. I liked it much more than the BBC version that I had seen. Are they going out in a blaze of glory or just going quietly ?
This series, & Warehouse 13, have been one of the diminishingly few reasons why I still watch the Syfy channel ( I still don't like the re - branding, 4 years later ). I'm fairly confident these guys can get work on other series, but it's a shame.

I love this show. Can't believe Syfy is making this mistake. Very unhappy.
