According to Deadline, both Oswalt and DeWitt have taken recurring roles in the upcoming season of Aaron Sorkin's HBO workplace drama about "News Night," a daily show on the fictional Atlantis Cable News network starring Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill and others.

DeWitt will play a litigator named Rebecca Halliday who’s hired to defend ACN in a wrongful termination suit potentially worth millions of dollars. Oswalt will play Jonas Pfeiffer, ACN's new VP of Human Resources who, we're just going to guess, will be brought in to deal with some misunderstanding that's escalated to an HR complaint against one of the lead characters and quickly gets out of hand.

DeWitt and Oswalt also both appeared in "United States Of Tara" on Showtime. On the big screen, DeWitt recently appeared in Ry Russo-Young's "Nobody Walks," while Oswalt stars in Todd Rohal's "Nature Calls," which opens today.

I must admit that never in my wildest dreams would I have seen Patton Oswalt starring in The Newsroom. Honestly, when I heard my DISH coworkers talking about this casting choice, I thought they were just joking! I'm skeptical about it, but also optimistic. Heck, The Newsroom hasn't let me down yet! It took me a while to discover this series, but I'm all caught up now. I was just lucky to stumble upon the whole first season that is available to instantly watch on dishonline.com, or else I'd still be in the dark about how great The Newsroom is! I can't wait to see what is in store for season two!
