Watch: A Star-Filled Cast Brings Larry Kramer's Play to HBO in the First Teaser for 'The Normal Heart'

Directed by "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy and adapted from Larry Kramer's autobiographical play about the AIDS crisis in New York in the 1980s, HBO's original film "The Normal Heart" is set to be one of the starriest the premium network has ever made.

Directed by "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy and adapted from Larry Kramer's Tony Award-winning autobiographical play about the AIDS crisis in New York in the 1980s, HBO's original film "The Normal Heart" is set to be one of the starriest the premium network has ever produced. Mark Ruffalo plays activist Ned Weeks and Julia Roberts is Dr. Emma Brookner, the polio survivor and physician with the most experience dealing with the new and growing outbreak. Matt Bomer plays Ned's lover Felix Turner, and Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons, Alfred Molina, Jonathan Groff and Joe Mantello are also in the cast. The film premieres on May 25 at 9pm ET -- take a look at the first teaser below.
