Between the time that Dan Harmon was kicked off "Community," the cult favorite NBC series he created, at the end of its third season and the time he was brought back to oversee its upcoming fifth, he and Justin Roiland landed an animated pilot and then series at Adult Swim.
The half-hour show, "Rick and Morty," is a warped, vaguely "Back to the Future"-inspired comedy about a kid whose wacky, brilliant and potentially sociopathic grandfather takes him on various sci-fi adventures, despite his attempts to resist. Chris Parnell and Sarah Chalke are among the voice cast, as is Harmon. In the grand tradition of Adult Swim, "Rick and Morty" resembles a children's show gone nightmarishly wrong. The series won't premiere until December, but you can check out a trailer below.
