Corrected: Amazon's relisted the video from 29 minutes to 1 minute and now only has the "Coming Soon" on loop - so check out the trailer, below.
The undead have certainly captivated the living -- vampires first caught our attention and zombies weren't too far behind. But will the new "Zombieland" TV adaptation have enough underworld mojo to make it to series and capture the attention of an online audience?
Amazon announced it was going in on a pilot for the long-in-the-works project based on Ruben Fleischer's horror comedy film last month, and now the episode, directed by Eli Craig of "Tucker and Dave vs. Evil," has been released online for free Amazon Studios.
The half-hour pilot is not embeddable, but you can watch it for free here and check out a trailer for the potential series below.
The pilot features a less expensive cast taking over the roles played by the 2009 film's stars Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin -- instead, there's Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Maira Walsh as Wichita, Tyler Ross as Columbus and Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock. The film's original creative team wrote and produced the adaptation, which follows the same plot of mortal survivors in a zombie world trying to find a place of their own.
"Zombieland" is one of Amazon Studio's first round of original pilots, as the site attempts to go in the direction of a Hulu or Netflix with unique offerings all its own.
