But the promo ads FX has been leaking in advance of the new season have been very effectively that. "American Horror Story: Asylum" starts in October and will tells an entirely new narrative with some recurring actors (like Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto) returning in new roles. The short promos below are abstract, filled with medical imagery and work in nicely creepy ways, reportedly showcasing moments from the opening title sequence. This season will be set, as the title indicates, at a mental asylum, and many of the videos feature a white-clad nun who doesn't look terribly nuturing -- the most recent, directly below, includes a nod to "The Exorcist" spider-walk.

American Horror Story brought something entirely new to television, and it seems like they are pushing the limits with the new season. Every trailer has managed to give me chills so far, but the most recent truly struck me to the core. Watching these trailers have made my lunch break at Dish sufficiently scarier. I am so excited to watch the new season with my Hopper. The fact that I have 2,000 hours of recording space and get to fast-forward through commercials on my recordings is amazing. Waiting for the new season is torturous, but these trailers are helping ease the pain. I canât wait to interpret the next one, but for now, I am avoiding the stairs to the basement at all costs.
