Like its haunted house-centric first round, the insane asylum-focused second season of Ryan Murphy's FX series "American Horror Story" starts off with a bang -- both figuratively and literally. The first five minutes of the season premiere, which airs Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 10 pm, find newlyweds (Adam Levine and Jenna Dewan) exploring the remains of Briarcliff Manor, a stop on their honeymoon tour of "the 12 most haunted places in America."
Once the largest tuberculosis ward on the East Coast, according to the pair, the asylum had as its most famous resident a serial killer named "Bloody Face." The cold open below suggests that while Briarcliff is no longer in use, that doesn't mean that no one's around. The video ends with a look at the creepy new opening credits. Zachary Quinto, Joseph Fiennes, Sarah Paulson, James Cromwell and Jessica Lange are among the "American Horror Story: Asylum" regulars.
