Watch: 'Futurama' Offers a Look Into the Future... Or the Second Half of Season 7

With new TV programming running year-round now with no real breaks anymore, and networks frequently splitting seasons of series in half and emphasizing "mid-season" or "winter" premieres when they return, it can be tricky just figuring out just what a show's run entails.

"Futurama" is one of the most egregious examples -- the Matt Groening-created animated comedy went from its original stint on Fox to reruns on Adult Swim to its current resurrection on Comedy Central. Technically, the show's now in the middle of its seventh season, a 26-episode arc that is, for whatever reason, being split over two years -- the first half airing from June to August 2012, and the second is slated to be broadcast this summer, creating a "Breaking Bad"-style gap that makes the idea of calling the collection of episodes a single season extra-confusing.

Nevertheless, "Futurama" is slated to return, and Comedy Central has offered up the trailer below teasing what's in store in the upcoming 13 episodes, including a Satanic/scientific ritual, the return of the Robot Devil, an apparent storyline inspired by "The Thing" and more.
