The original "Sharknado" turned into a Twitter behemoth for Syfy last summer, so a sequel was inevitable.
Featuring an all star cast worthy of a sequel of this magnitude, "Sharknado 2" finds Tara Reid and Ian Ziering returning to fight sharks one more time, now with the help of Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and Vivica A. Fox. I can only imagine McGrath will use the soothing, melodic sounds of his band's '90s hit "Fly" to woo the sharks into submission. It would have worked on my sister, anyway.
The full title was generated from Twitter last year, settling on "The Second One" after accepting more submissions than could be sorted via the social media platform that made the original (kind of) relevant. Producers also engaged in a questionable Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for a bonus scene they wouldn't have included had they not reached their goal (they barely did, thanks to "someone" donating $10 grand).
"Sharknado 2" premieres Wednesday, July 30th at 9pm on SyFy.
