The Herbert Ross original was prime sob-while-eating-ice-cream melodrama, and this remake looks to be no different other than having the added benefit of Woodard, who's walks away with everything she acts in, and a chance to see "Pariah" star Oduye on screen again after her indie breakout role.
Check out the trailer below -- the film's scheduled to air later in the year.

I love the cast. No, it isn't going to be as good as the original, but you would have to have a heart of stone not to enjoy QL and Phylicia Rashad. I'm esp excited because in some of the salon scenes, Queen Latifah is wearing a cheetah salon cape made by my company http://www.berazorsharp.com Razor Sharp Salon Wear! So exciting!

Just another fabulous and brillant ideal; Thank-you, I loved the first one with Sally and the girls., one of my favorite movie, I can see again and again. However, this time will offer another style, another hue, I love it.
Much appreciation for the Arts.

I will be so very happy to see this all star cast in this remake of this movie. I am a huge fan of Alfre Woodard, Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad and Jill Scott but I don't know anything about Condola Rashad, Phylicia daughter or Adepero Oduye as members of the cast but I can't wait to see it I liked "Steel Magnolias" the first time, this time I hope to love it.
