Watch: 'The Simpsons' Evil Billionaire Mr. Burns Endorses Mitt Romney (Video)

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may have surprised people with his partisanship-be-damned praise of President Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but there's nothing unexpected about the political choices of "The Simpsons" character Mr. Burns.

In the video below, which purports to be a message from the Springfield Republican Party, Burns endorses Mitt Romney and tries to address the only issue he thinks might "deny us the presidency that is the God-given property of the Republican Party." That's the incident involving the Romney family dog Seamus being transported in a carrier strapped to the roof of the car on the way to a vacation. Mr. Burns' right-wing leanings are well-established on the show, but the Springfield Republican Party's other members have been revealed to include Rainier Wolfcastle, Krusty the Clown, Fat Tony and the Rich Texan.

The new episode of the long-running animated series, which airs Sunday, Nov. 4, doesn't appear to be particularly topical -- "Adventures in Baby Getting" deals with Marge's desire to possibly have another child.
