Watch: Ricky Gervais Returns with Season 2 Trailer for 'Derek'

While it may look like an(other) ad for "Fargo" at its onset, what with the knitted sweater backdrop, the trailer decor for Ricky Gervais' Netflix comedy "Derek" is meant to convey the common habit of the elderly as well as the warm-hearted nature of the winning comedy.

Some fans of the daring comedian, well known for his rambunctiousness, "nothing is off limits" approach to hosting the Golden Globes, were turned off by his warm-hearted take on life at a nursing home in Britain. Others found the the show's sweet nature appealing. Gervais' endearing lead performance as well as the heavy emphasis on family evoked warm and fuzzy feelings similar to those brought on by "Parks and Recreation" or "Cougar Town."

Distributed first in the UK by Channel 4, "Derek" premiered in the U.S. on Netflix in September of last year to little fanfare. Gervais has never proven himself as a huge draw in the States, despite headlining two rather under-appreciated feature films, "The Invention of Lying" and "Ghost Town" and earning the aforementioned attention of Hollywood (for better or worse) at the Golden Globes. Season two looks to continue the simple-minded character's emotional development with the introduction of his father to the nursing home.

Clocking in at only 200 total minutes (roughly), you can decide for yourself by checking out season one on Netflix. All six episodes of the second season will debut to subscribers May 30th.
