It's amusing and wonderful that PBS/ITV phenom "Downton Abbey" continues to be as hotly anticipated and fussed over as a typical superhero movie (the trailer below, via Vulture, appears to have been taped off of British TV). With (period) drama like this, who can be faulted for going all atwitter over the prospect of new castmember Shirley MacLaine trading barbs with Maggie Smith?
This video teaser for the upcoming third season of the series, which will be broadcast in September in the UK before heading to air here in the US on PBS in January, gives us glimpses of MacLaine's arrival, Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) in prison and Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) demanding "Are you really telling me that all the money is gone?" Not the money! How will we be able to afford the servants without it?
