After its first successful venture into original programming with a period drama, WGN America is doubling up with "Manhattan," the network's second original scripted series following "Salem." The new drama, from "Masters of Sex" writer Sam Shaw, centers on the secretive Manhattan Project of the early 1940s, where American scientists raced to build the first atomic bomb.
Starring a few familiar faces, including "House of Cards" alum Rachel Brosnahan and recurring "Mad Men" star Mark Moses (the infamous Duck), "Manhattan" is packed with people you'll recognize telling a story you may have forgotten. It's a long way from Woody Allen's "Manhattan," both literally and figuratively.
Take a look at the trailer below. "Manhattan" premieres Sunday, July 27th on WGN.
