The 10 Indies to Watch on VOD This January

"The Imposter" (January 22) Criticwire Page

"The Imposter" was one of the most buzzed about documentaries to premiere at the last year's Sundance Film Festival, because it posed more questions than it answered. The film centers on a 1997 case in which a French man living in Spain impersonated Nicholas Barclay, a missing adolescent from San Antonio, Texas by convincing the boy's family that he was the kid. If that sounds too crazy to believe, you'd be wrong. The joy in watching "The Imposter" comes from the mysteries that continue to creep into the tale, right up until the end credits.

"Letters From the Big Man" (January 8) Criticwire Page

"Letters From the Big Man," an oddball and totally endearing Sundance dramedy stars stage and screen star Lily Rabe as Sarah Smith, an artist and government hydrologist, who sets out on a post-fire stream survey in a remote part of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness of southwestern Oregon. In the course of her journey, Sarah unwittingly finds herself interacting with a sasquatch man (yeah, you heard that right). Over time, the two discover they have more in common than meets the eye. And when push comes to shove, Sarah must take bold steps to protect his privacy, as well as her own.

"Supporting Characters" (January 22) Criticwire Page

"Girls" mainstays Alex Karpovsky and Lena Dunham star in "Supporting Characters," a romantic comedy about a film editing power duo (Karpovsky and Tarik Lowe), struglling with their careers, friendship and relationships with the opposite sex. Writer-director Daniel Schechter drew on a lot of his own experiences to pen this indie that world premiered to solid notices in Tribeca.

    I checked with I-Tunes and Amazon Instant Video- neither have Fairhaven indy film. Did you check your sources?
