After premiering in the Un Certain Regard section of Cannes earlier this year and set to play the New York Film Festival, "Norte, The End of History" has just landed distribution by the Cinema Guild. Directed by Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz, the film follows a man who is wrongly convicted of a murder and put in jail, eventually finding prison life more tolerable when something mysterious and strange starts happening to him.
"With 'Norte,' Lav Diaz has crafted a grand, complex and epic work," commented by Ryan Krivoshey of The Cinema Guild. "a truly visionary film that will captivate audiences upon its release and for many years to come. We're thrilled to be releasing it."
The Cinema Guild plan to release "Norte, The End of History" theatrically in 2014.
