Distributors The Film Arcade and Paramount Home Media Distribution have teamed up for the release of Sundance comedy "A.C.O.D." (Adult Children of Divorce), the companies announced today. The Film Arcade will handle the film's North American theatrical release, while Paramount Home Media Distribution will handle all home entertainment, television licensing and digital distribution following the release.
Featuring an ensemble cast including Adam Scott ("Parks and Recreation"), Richard Jenkins, Catherine O'Hara, Amy Poehler, Jessica Alba, Jane Lynch, Clark Duke and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the film follows Carter (Scott) who has a successful career and supportive girlfriend. The announcement of his younger brother's (Duke) engagement forces Carter to reunite his bitter, divorced parents for the wedding, devolving the proceedings into chaos as years of resentment boil over.
The film is the directorial debut of writer-director Stuart Zicherman (creator of J.J. Abrams' "Six Degrees") who co-wrote the script with Ben Karlin ("Modern Family," "The Daily Show").
"'A.C.O.D.' is one of the funniest Sundance films we've seen and the audience at its premiere laughed the whole way through," said The Film Arcade. "Stu and his incredible cast have shown us that divorce hurts until you laugh. We look forward to bringing this entertaining film to audiences and adding 'A.C.O.D.' to the pop-culture lexicon."
No home or theatrical release dates have been set by either company at this time.
