"Minnesota is McDonald's Country!" is one heck of a snappy tagline, but this first look at Michael Keaton in character as Ray Kroc for John Lee Hanock's "The Founder" somehow makes it clear that Minnesota will just be the beginning of Kroc's fast food franchising, the kind that would eventually turn the whole world into McDonald's Country.
The new biopic tells the story of Kroc (Keaton), a Midwestern salesman who franchised out the burger chain owned by Mac and Dick McDonald in the 1950s to big money and even bigger drama. In the hands of "The Blind Side" director Hancock, "The Founder" is sure to document the trials and tribulations that turned McDonald's into a household name. Supporting Keaton are a cast of crowd pleasers, including Nick Offerman, BJ Novak, Laura Dern and Linda Cardellini.
"The Founder" is scheduled to release on August 5.
