The HIFF's Sunday Centerpiece Film will be Alexander Payne's "Nebraska" starring Bruce Dern and Will Forte. The road-trip journey shot in black and white tells the story of a father and son traveling across America to redeem their sweepstakes prize.

The Closing Night Film premiering Oct. 14th will be Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave." The highly praised film is already considered an Oscar front-runner, and is based on the true story of Solomon Northrup, a free black man from pre-Civil War New York who is abducted and sold into slavery.

"Each of these 3 Films presents an insightful look at America, both contemporaneously and historically, as well as urban and rural. These artists have each made unique films that we are so proud to share with our audiences in the Hamptons,' says David Nugent, Artistic Director.
