After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, "The Love Punch" has just been picked up for distribution by Ketchup Entertainment, who are eyeing a release for next year. The romantic caper follows Richard (Pierce Brosnan) and Kate (Emma Thompson), a divorced couple who reunite after having their pension stolen by a corrupt businessman. Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie also star in the film.
“We are pleased to have been able to acquire the rights to this incredibly entertaining film from Lionel Uzan’s SND/M6 and look forward to its release in 2014,” says Ketchup Entertainment’s CEO Gareth West in a statement. “The film is a perfect fit for the Ketchup slate, and typifies Ketchup’s commitment to ensure we can help bring high quality independent entertainment to audiences in the US.”
Ketchup Films' release of the film will be done through their ongoing collaboration with Open Road Films.
