The Top 9 Indies To Watch on VOD This April

"God Bless America" Magnet
Indiewire has weeded through the films hitting VOD this April to bring you the nine indies to look out for. You'll find everything from a found-footage horror film to the latest documentary from Morgan Spurlock that delves into the world of Comic-Con.

Here are the nine indie films to watch on VOD this April, in alphabetical order.

"All Me: The Life and Times of Winfred Rembert" (April 15)

Winfred Rembert, the autobiographical painter who chronicles the day-to-day existence of African Americans in the segregated South in his art, gets a due profile in this moving documentary. In the festival favorite, Rembert relives the turbulent life he's led, visualized in his paintings, showing how even the most painful memories can be transformed into something meaningful.

"Apartment 143" (April 27)

Inspired no doubt by found-footage horror succeses stories like "The Blair Witch Project" and "Paranormal Activity," "Apartment 143" offers viewers the chance to follow a group of scientists through a haunted house via the team's terrifying recordings. To differentiate itself from the pack of found-footage horror, this one features footage culled from a slew of cameras, including video, HD, 35mm, 8mm, and 16mm. It doesn't get geekier than this.
