Memorably reviewed by Mashable as a film "so fucked up, Satan would see it twice," Robert Eggers' horror sensation is coming back to theaters to allow viewers to, well, basically emulate the horned guy himself and check it a second time (or, if you missed it the first time it went into wide release, to watch it for a first, likely unnerving as hell time). To celebrate this wonderful new way to live deliciously, distributor A24 has released a new trailer, and to say it captures the most evil, twisted and messed up parts of the film is to sell it very short indeed. (It's also deeply NSFW, so be prepared.)

Eggers' exceedingly well-crafted feature follows a Puritan family after they've been kicked out of the (relatively) cozy confines of a sprawling settlement and forced to make their own way on an initially promising plot of land. Soon, however, spooky happenings and a deepening sense of familial mistrust start to pervade their every experience. Oh, and there's that baby that goes missing. And whatever is going on with the family's wild kid twins. And the goat that might be controlling them. And also the witch in the forest. It's a moody, terrifying time at the movies, and it should be seen in a dark theater filled with an audience that is positively losing their minds.

"The Witch" will be be back in theaters this Friday, April 1. Check out the new trailer above.
