"The Host" Takes Four Awards Including Best Picture at Asian Film Awards

South Korea's "The Host" by Bong Joon-ho won four awards, including best film at the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong Tuesday local time. Actor Song Kang-ho won best actor for his role in the film, currently in release in the U.S. by Magnolia Pictures. "The Host" also won for best cinematographer (Kim Hyung-goo) and best visual effects (The Orphanage). Chinese director Jia Zhangke won best director for "Still Life," while best actress went to Miki Nakatani for "Memories of Matsuko" (Japan) and Mani Haghighi received the best screenwriting prize for "Men at Work. Lee Chatametikool won best editor for the Thailand/Austrian/French production, "Syndromes and a Century." [Brian Brooks]
