The *new* indieWIRE: The First 80 Days

It’s been nearly 12 weeks since we unveiled the *new* indieWIRE for filmmakers, the industry and moviegoers. The site continues to evolve each week thanks to your feedback and we’re excited to see that our readership is growing alongside an increased level of advertising. The economy being what it is, we particularly appreciate the support and are excited to have Stella Artois on board for the entire year.

In the 80 days since we unveiled the new indieWIRE, we’ve launched a number of new features at indieWIRE.com, including:

- the new iW To Go widget
- enhanced daily email publications
- a continuing series of video clips alongside editorial coverage
- the new iW Poll, an expanded blog feed
- an Oscar weekend partnership with Facebook
- an in-progress iW Guide to Film Festivals
- and a monthly theatrical release calendar.

And, we are thrilled to be hosting a new blog by Mike Jones and plan to welcome more bloggers soon.

This first quarter of ‘09 we’ve hosted a series of stellar Filmmaker Q & A’s at Apple Stores in New York, San Francisco, and Austin, TX, with an exciting list of talks on tap for the Apple Store, Soho during the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival. Special thanks to Apple for the successful ongoing partnership.

In April, in addition to daily coverage from Tribeca, we’ll also have dispatches from the AFI Dallas International Film Festival, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Florida Film Festival, the Nashville Film Festival, the Sarasota FIlm Festival, and the San Francisco International Film Festival. And, next month we’ll again be at the Cannes Film Festival with daily dispatches and photos for the entire event.

Before wrapping up, I’d like to take a moment and thank some of the advertisers who have worked with us since the debut of the new indieWIRE in January, especially the many film distribution companies and festivals.
