The Producer of "Dark Knight" Goes "low budget" with Atlas Independent

"Dark Knight" producer Charles Roven has launched Atlas Independent, a division of Atlas Entertainment.

Atlas Independent will produce films budgeted under $10 million -- a figure that sounds enormous next to the budget of, say, "Bellflower," but probably covers only the catering bill on Roven's current production, "The Dark Knight Rises." William Green oversees the division.

The first Atlas Entertainment title is dark comedy "Revenge for Jolly," the feature debuts of director Chadd Harbold and writer-star-producer Brian Petsos. The cast includes Oscar Isaac, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, David Rasche and Kevin Corrigan. Atlas’ Alan Glazer executive produces with Chris Wilmot, Michael Wunderman, Peter Fruchtman and Dan Berk.

"Revenge for Jolly" follows a man who seeks to avenge the murder of his dog and creates a path of destruction.
