THINKFilm and Starz Entertainment Group Collaborate on Slasher Film Doc

THINKFilm distributor and Starz Entertainment Group have just announced their decision to team up for the creation of a new documentary, "Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film," which will be directed by Jeff McQueen and produced by Candy Heart Productions. The film will be based on Adam Rockoff's book, and, like its literary parallel, it will reference classics of the genre, such as "Halloween," "Friday the 13th," "Psycho" and "Black Christmas," as well feature interviews with filmmakers and critics. The doc is set to be released in late summer 2006. [Aileen Torres]

This movie is ten years too late. I thought "Scream" brought the slasher film back, and as long as distribs spend a fortune on advertising, these things make back their money in the first 3 days.Video ruined the slasher film with endless rip-offs and every other 3rd movie was a horror film. After Halloween 2, that series sucked. After Nightmare on Elm Street 3, that series Really sucked. The only Friday the 13ths worth a damn are 1 and 7.The first Texas Chainsaw was great. Part 2 was funny and the rest sucked.Am I missing any? Psycho , except for 1, all sucked.
