ThinkFilm Expands to Include International Sales Unit

ThinkFilm, the indie company with offices in New York and Toronto, will launch an international sales division in May at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. ThinkFilm president and CEO Jeff Sackman confirmed that Mark Horowitz, an executive with more than 20 years of experience in international film sales and distribution. to oversee the launch.

Among the films that the company will sell in Cannes are the popular festival doc "Murderball" about quad rugby, which ThinkFilm produced. The Sundance '05 premiere has struck a chord with audiences, most recently this past week at SXSW. ThinkFilm will also sell comedy doc "The Aristocrats," Clement Virgo's "Lie With Me," and "The Last Mogul" about Lew Wasserman.

"In creating our international division we sought the same level of experience and expertise we have in all facets of the company, and luckily Mark Horowitz was available to supervise the launch," said Sackman, in a statement.

Horowitz served as president of Alliance Atlantis Pictures International, the international feature film sales and distribution division he formed and ran with Alliance Atlantis Entertainment for seven years. Prior to that he was EVP at MDP Worldwide.
