TIFFG Unveils Canada's Top 10 for '08

Canada's Top Ten feature and short films for 2008 were announced by the Toronto International Film Festival Group, which organizes screenings and Q&As with filmmakers whose films are chosen by the organization. The films and other events will take place January 30 - February 7 at Cinematheque Ontario, and tickets go on sale December 16. Canada's Top Ten films are chosen by national panels of filmmakers, journalists, programmers and industry professionals among narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental films. Films in this year's roster include: "Adoration" by Atom Egoyan, "Before Tomorrow" by Marie-Helene Cousineau and Madeline Piujuq Ivalu, "Ce qu'il faut pour vivre" (The Necessities of Life) by Benoit Pilon, "C'est pas moi, je le jure!" (It's Not Me, I Swear!) by Philippe Falardeau, "Fifty Dead Men Walking" by Kari Skogland, "Heaven on Earth" by Deepa Mehta, "Lost Song" by Rodrigue Jean, "Maman est chez le coiffeur" (Mommy Is at the Hairdresser's) by Lea Pool, "La Memoire des anges" (The Memories of Angels) by Luc Bourdon and "Pontypool" by Bruce McDonald.
