FX may have the best overall average of any network with new dramas of late, coming off of a terrific first year of "The Americans" and with "American Horror Story," "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy" all going strong in subsequent seasons. "The Bridge" is the network's next effort, a crime drama set on the border between El Paso and Juárez, with Diane Kruger and "A Better Life" star Demián Bichir as detectives from the U.S. and Mexico who are forced to partner up on a case involving a string of murders, the first of which is found on the bridge between the two countries.
While this is, yes, yet another serial killer show, it's also a remake of an ongoing and very successful Scandinavian drama by the same name, and there's a lot of like about the production, including the complicated sociopolitical realities of the setting and the fact that "Miss Bala" director Gerardo Naranjo helmed the pilot. The first trailer for the show, below, also looks promisingly dark. "The Bridge" is set to premiere July 10 at 10pm.
