Trailer of the Week: Elijah Wood Plays the Performance Of (And For) His Life in 'Grand Piano'

Before the Trailer, We Thought: Dubbed a "breakout masterpiece" by many who attended this year's Fantastic Fest, Eugenio Mira's "Grand Piano" has a premise so over-the-top, it merits attention. The film stars Elijah Wood as a famous concert pianist making his comeback after a five-year hiatus with a concert, only to discover that if he plays a single note wrong, a sniper will take him out. Indiewire called the film "sweeping" and "De Palma-esque" upon catching its world premiere at Fantastic Fest.

For more indie film trailers check out Indiewire's trailer page, sponsored by Sony Pictures Classics.

And Now? Those praises seem about right. Magnet's trailer for the film lures you in with its remarkably simple conceit and then lets 'er rip, with Wood sweating and fretting as he attempts to nail every note.

"Grand Piano" hits VOD/iTunes on January 30, 2014 and arrives in theaters on March 7, 2014.

Blame the fraudulent Sundance Film Festival your "friends"

Has anyone looked or read? www.sundancefilmfestivl2013 dot com ?????
???? Probably not, indiewire wont report the news about lawsuits against Sundance, neither will Filmaker Magazine, or Film Threat, its a cover-up, keep making your films for nothing, they will be uploaded for free on youtube, ALL distibution deals are done at Sundance, AND ALL FILMS ARE PRE-SELECTED by the 6 head programmers and Sundance STEALS LIES, AND IS A THIEVE, taking over 500,000.00 a submission fess each year from filmakers, so WAKE UP!

I'm sure there are things to complain about re: Sundance. But your accusations are borderline hysterical. All films uploaded for free on YT? All films "pre-selected" (by which I assume you mean they don't even bother looking at screeners) by programmers? Half a mil in submission fees? What are you on? I've been to Sundance enough years to know that these are wild exaggerations. P.S.: You misspelled your own link, and when I figured that out and got to the actual page, clicking on it led nowhere, so it seems to be just a cover page promising "The Corrupt Truth" about Sundance but offering nothing.
