Following her hugely successful comedy "Bridesmaids," Kristen Wiig has steered clear from broad comedy for the most part (save for the "Anchorman" sequel and some TV appearances), favoring quirky indie dramedies ("Girl Most Likely," "Friends With Kids" and the recent Sundance smash "The Skeleton Twins") over a big payday.

Following her hugely successful comedy "Bridesmaids," Kristen Wiig has steered clear of broad comedy for the most part (save for the "Anchorman" sequel and some TV appearances), favoring quirky indie dramedies ("Girl Most Likely," "Friends With Kids" and the recent Sundance smash "The Skeleton Twins") over a big payday.

Her latest in that line, "Hateship Loveship" which premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival, opens on VOD and in limited release on April 11. IFC Films has just released the trailer.

In the romantic drama, based on the short story by Alice Munro, Wiig plays a woman who signs on to work for a man (Nick Nolte) to help him care for his grandaughter (Hailee Steinfield). Guy Pearce plays the kid's wayward father. Watch the trailer below:
