Before the Trailer, We Thought: Though we know Steve Coogan can serve up funny in his travel comedies, the idea of Coogan in a true story drama as BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith helping an Irish woman (Judi Dench) search for the illegitimate son she gave up for adoption in the U.S seems a bit operatic and maybe even out of Coogan's wheel house.
And Now? The film could be director's Stephen Frears best work since the "The Queen". Frears juggles well the somber emotional undercurrent of the film with dry British wit give out by both Dench and Coogan. The film which has already played at the Toronto Film Festival and the Venice Film festival to praise might even earn Judi Dench an Oscar nomination.
The scheduled release date is November 22, 2013.
