Tribeca Film announced today the acquisition of all North American rights to the provocative Israeli teen drama "S#x Acts" (formerly titled "Six Acts.")
Helmed by first-time director Jonathan Garfunkel and written by Rona Segel, "S#x Acts" tells the story of a naive teenager named Gili, played by Sivian Levy, who decides that the best way to adjust to her new school and improve her social status is by sleeping around."'S#x Acts' tackles head-on the contradictions and desires of a young woman's coming of age," said Geoff Gilmore, Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises. asks questions about the current status quo of sexual interactions among young people, which we hope sheds light on these issues that many young people are faced with today."
"S#X Acts" won Israeli Competition awards for best actress, script and debut film at the 2012 Haifa International Film Festival in Israel. It made its North American debut at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival andwill be released on Oct. 22 on VOD platforms, as well as iTunes, VUDU, Playstation, and Google Play, followed by a theatrical release on Oct. 25.
Nick Savva, Director of Acquisitions for Tribeca Film and Nicholas Brigaud-Robert on behalf of the filmmakers solidified the deal.
