Watch: Trailer for Billy Bob Thornton Latest Directorial Effort 'Jayne Mansfield's Car'

"Jayne Mansfield's Car."

Billy Bob Thornton is back in the director's chair and back in the deep south reminiscent of his award winning  "Sling Blade." "Jayne Mansfield's Car" touches on family and culture clash in the late 1960s.

The story focuses on two sets of families, one from Alabama, and one from England, who's lives intertwine after the death of their matriarch. Thornton is accompanied my a powerhouse cast of performers. Robert Duvall plays the patriarch of the Alabama family, with John Hurt leading the British clan. Robert Patrick, Frances O'Connor, Kevin Bacon, Robert Stevenson and Tippi Hedren.

Thornton also co-wrote the script with Tom Epperson. Here's Indiewire's review from last year's Berlin International Film Festival. Check out the new trailer:

I watched the Jayne Mansfields car movie last night. Is there a Alfred Hitchcock theme to this movie? If you watch the barber shop scene, you will see a car that looks like the one Jayne Mansfield was in when she died drive by in the background. (The story was written by Alfred Hitchie ). ???? Kinda curious.

Jayne Mansfield was the first famous person I ever met, in October of 1962. I still have a framed autographed photo she gave me that day. She was very pretty, but wore way too much makeup. Her husband, Mickey Hargitay, was also there, as was her poodle. Years later, I accidentally happened upon her poodle's grave in Milwaukee, at 36th & Loomis. It's all connected, no kidding.
