Watch: Chris O'Dowd Can't Say the Right Thing in This 'Calvary' Clip

Ever since it received raves at its world premiere at Sundance, we've been excited for 'Calvary,' the latest drama by Irish director John Michael McDonagh. This new awkward clip, featuring the dependably hilarious Chris O'Dowd, should hold us of until the film hits theaters in August.

Ever since it received raves at its world premiere at Sundance, we've been excited for "Calvary," the latest drama by Irish director John Michael McDonagh. This new awkward clip, featuring the dependably hilarious Chris O'Dowd, should hold us of until the film hits theaters in August.

McDonagh, who wrote and directed the incredibly underrated "The Guard," returns with this film, which stars Brendan Gleeson as a priest who faces a death threat from one his parishioners. In this clip, an exclusive to Vulture, we see Gleeson converse with O'Dowd's character, a parishioner who has trouble talking about his unfaithful wife. 

"Calvary" will be released to theaters by Fox Searchlight on on August 1st. Check out the clip below.
