Prepare to be weirded out (in a good way). Microbudget dark comedy "American Animal" premiered at last year's SXSW and garnered some great notices, many of them noting how odd the whole affair is. Now thanks to the recently released theatrical trailer, we see why. The comedy -- written, directed by and starring Matt D'Elia -- centers on an eccentric and terminally ill young man who goes mental when he catches wind that his best friend and roommate is leaving for a new job in the morning. D'Elia plays the titular loon.
