Watch: Demented Trailer for Dark Indie Comedy 'American Animal'
"American Animal"Screen Media Films
Prepare to be weirded out (in a good way). Microbudget dark comedy "American Animal" premiered at last year's SXSW and garnered some great notices, many of them noting how odd the whole affair is. Now thanks to the recently released theatrical trailer, we see why.
The comedy -- written, directed by and starring Matt D'Elia -- centers on an eccentric and terminally ill young man who goes mental when he catches wind that his best friend and roommate is leaving for a new job in the morning. D'Elia plays the titular loon.
Rounding out his cast: Brendan Fletcher (HBO's "The Pacific"), Mircea Monroe (Showtime's "Episodes") and Angela Sarafyan ("The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II").
Whoa! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! Been DYING to see it ever since my boyfriend saw it (and raved about it) at SXSW last year. I opted for WIN WIN instead, which was playing at the same time right next door...what a mistake! So excited to finally be able to see AMERICAN ANIMAL! Yayayayayay! Thank you, Screen Media Films, whoever you are!
