Jesse Eisenberg's star continues to rise as he's played everything from a zombie hunter to the creator of Facebook. But the Oscar-nominated actor goes to even greater depths with the opportunity to play two different characters in a single film in the upcoming dark comedy "The Double," set to be released in theaters and on iTunes/OnDemand by Magnolia Pictures on May 9, 2014.
Eisenberg plays Simon, an insignificant man in an indifferent world, whose failures at work, at home and in his relationships have made for a very bleak existence. But when he later meets James, a man who looks exactly like him, Simon's world is turned upside down when he notices the much more charming, confident James taking over his life and obtaining the many things he himself cannot -- including the girl of his dreams.
"The Double," which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, was directed by Richard Ayoade ("Submarine") and also stars Mia Wasikowska, Wallace Shawn and Sally Hawkins. Watch the trailer below:
