Watch: Harrowing Trailer for Buzzed-About Doc 'The Central Park Five' (VIDEO)

"The Central Park Five" The Central Park Five
Set to open in New York on November 23 in the heat of awards season, Ken Burns, David McMahon and Sarah Burns' documentary "The Central Park Five" finally has an official trailer courtesy of its distributor Sundance Selects, and it's a doozy. Considering the ground the doc covers, that doesn't come as much of a surprise.

As many a New Yorker could probably tell you (based on the title alone), "The Central Park Five" details the story of the five young men who were wrongfully convicted for the 1989 rape of a female jogger in Central Park. The film looks at how our legal system rushed to judgment in this racially fueled case, resulting in false confessions and conflicting evidence that condemned the five men to serving full terms in prison. The case was eventually reopened and the men were released after the true rapist came forward, but their youth had already been lost.
