Watch: James Franco Reloads Rifles in Cormac McCarthy Adaptation 'Child of God'

Well Go USA Entertainment has released the trailer of James Franco new directorial feat "Child of God." Adapted from a novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy ("No Country for Old Men", "The Road"), the film will soon join a group of largely unknown, unappreciated films by Franco.

Well Go USA Entertainment has released the trailer of James Franco's new directorial feat "Child of God." Adapted from a novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy ("No Country for Old Men," "The Road"), the film will soon join a large group of films by Franco, including the likes of "As I Lay Dying," "The Broken Tower" and "Interior. Leather Bar."

Starring Franco, Tim Blake Nelson, Jim Parrack, Fallon Goodson, Scott Haze, Jeremy Ambler and Jolivett, "Child of God" follows a man's attempts to live outside the lay of the law. Lost and dissociated from family, friends and any other common thread, Lester Balard descends to the state of 'cave dweller,' falling into a life of crime and supreme degradation.

Having premiered last year at the Venice International Film Festival, the film hits select cinemas August 1st.Check out the trailer below:
