We've all binged on Jeffrey Tambor before (who didn't watch George Sr. in "Arrested Development" Season 4?), and now Amazon is bringing you more of your favorite TV dad -- only this time, he's discovering he's actually your favorite TV mom.

Identity, secrets, and family are major themes in "Transparent," the latest Amazon Originals series starring Tambor, Jay Duplass, Gaby Hoffman, Amy Landecker, and Judith Light. After catching his daughter cheating on her husband with her ex-girlfriend, Tambor's character Mort announces his plans to transition. Each family member has their own issues, and they all start to come out once Mort (who starts going by Maura) shares her decision with the family.

Created by Jill Soloway, Amazon announced today that the 10-episode first season would debut Friday, September 26. All episodes of the dark comedy -- though after watching the pilot, "realistic comedy" may be a better label -- will be available immediately for Amazon Prime members, including the pilot which is already available to stream.
