Kung fu movies appear surprisingly rarely stateside, but when one of them hits theaters, it hits hard. Writer/director Gareth Evans now brings us "The Raid 2: Berandal," the sequel to his epic martial arts flick "The Raid: Redemption." The film, which promises to bring even more heart-pounding action than its predecessor, was an official selection of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.
"The Raid 2" places rookie Jakarta cop Rama (Iko Uwais) much deeper into the criminal underworld, this time forcing him to go undercover in the most violent and dangerous of prisons to infiltrate a notorious gang. Only time will tell if Rama will be able to battle his way up the pyramid of corruption that has placed both him and his family in life-threatening danger. And judging by the trailer, the enemies he will face will provide a hefty challenge to say the least.
"The Raid 2: Berandal" will be released theatrically on March 28. Check out the trailer below:
