"Begin Again," the Toronto and Tribeca darling, stars Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo as a musician and representative team that seeks to change the way people experience music. Only, first Knightley's inspired songwriter has to catch a break, which is going to be really hard to do when the only exposure her songs ever get is when she plays to her cat. She has never recorded anything, which is a problem Dan (Ruffalo) did not anticipate.
The film follows Gretta (Knightley) after being dumped by her newly successful boyfriend played by Adam Levine. Dan encounters her when he hears her play right after he has lost his job. Without a producer, studio or even a demo, they get creative in recording Gretta's album.
Mos Def, Catherine Keener, James Corden and Oscar-nominee Hailee Steinfeld also star in this film by John Carney. "Begin Again," formerly titled "Can a Song Save Your Life?," is being distributed by The Weinstein Company and will hit theaters on June 27th.
