The latest film from director Robert Redford, "The Company You Keep," about an eager journalist's exposure of a lawyer as a former antiwar fugitive finally has a trailer. Yahoo! Movies released the latest trailer for the film that stars Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins, and Stanley Tucci, among others.
Based on Neil Gordon's novel of the same name with a screenplay adapted by Lem Dobbs ("Haywire," "The Limey"), "The Company You Keep" follows Jim Grant (Redford), a former member of 70's anti-Vietnam war group Weather Underground wanted for murder. When unstoppable reporter Ben Shepard (LaBeouf) exposes Grant's real identity he must leave his young daughter and go on the run. Sarandon plays a former member of Weather Underground whose recent arrest leads Shepard to uncover the mysteries behind Grant's 30 years in hiding.
The trailer's suspenseful thriller vibe feels like a more exciting and intricate take on Redford's 1975 "Three Days of the Condor," where he also spends the entirety of the film on the run. But the 76-year-old good-guy-always-framed-bad we love to cheer on is still moving quickly and slyly, jumping over fences and fleeing police dogs in the wilderness -- who knows if LeBeouf can catch up. If anything, the huge cast jam-packed into the two minute trailer is something to look forward to for April 5, when the film is released by Sony.
