It's quite the glorious day in the world of independent cinema as Richard Linklater's ambitious, critically acclaimed American odyssey "Boyhood" opens in select New York and Los Angeles theaters. Over the past month, the filmmaker has given a multitude of intriguing interviews, providing startling insight into his one-of-a-kind 12 year filmmaking journey. The latest talk comes courtesy of VICE's arts podcast, "VICE Meets."
In the video, Linklater and host Reihan Salam sit down to discuss the director's latest coming-of-age masterpiece. While tidbits on his inspiration, collaborative process, and vision are always worthwhile, the podcast is particularly noteworthy since Linklater offers up some great behind-the-scenes stories and videos from his long in the works project.
