Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway stage a sad-off

As Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson get ready for their respective awards season films ("Les Misérables" and "Django Unchained") to hit the multiplexes this Christmas, they huddled together by the fireplace and Christmas tree, drank some hot chocolate, and recorded a fairly funny video trying to out-sad each other in a sad off for Funny or Die.

Watch Jackson try to convince Hathaway that losing a job is not as sad as having job security -- as a slave. Hathaway continues to stretch her comedic muscles here, with valiant attempts to convince Jackson that her film is more drab because its title literally translates to "The Miserable" and that "Django" definitely isn't sad because its star (Jamie Foxx) had his own sitcom in a prior life.
