First known for his memorable role in the U.K. hit "Skins," English actor Jack O'Connell is becoming an international name with his impressive performances -- some of which still hasn't even hit theaters. But he appeared in the impressive "Starred Up" (which we wrote about in Telluride), is the lead in Angelina Jolie's Oscar hopeful "Unbroken" and now stars in "'71," a drama set during the Northern Ireland "troubles."
In "'71," directed by Yann Demange, O'Connell stars as a young British soldier who is suddenly abandoned by his unit in the midst of a street riot in 1971 Belfast. The preview offers a gritty look at the thriller, which will play at the New York Film Festival on September 27; until then, check out the trailer below.
