While the last installment of the gorefest that was "Cabin Fever" was released a mere two years ago, it seems to be that there's no stopping the franchise from continuing. A remake of the 2002 production is now upon us, and if you were wondering, the mastermind of the original films himself, Eli Roth, has bestowed on the film his blessing.
The new film, which remains loyal to the original title, similarly sticks to the formula by using Roth's original script. However, this time around, the film is helmed by director Travis Zariwny, while Roth serves as executive producer. The cast includes up-and-coming actors Gage Golightly, Dustin Igram, Matthew Daddario, Nadine Crocker and Samuel Davis.
"Cabin Fever" was never known to be light on the gore and camp, and this time should be not much different. As a group of college graduates escape to the woods for their last hurrah, they turn out to be the perfect munchies for a hungry, flesh-eating virus. With more death and blood in the new installation, 2016's "Cabin Fever" aims to take the horror-comedy of the original much further.
