"Life of Pi"
20th Century Fox Film
In case the trailers for "Life of Pi," Ang Lee's first foray into 3D, didn't sell you on the wondrous visuals that caused critics to go gaga upon its unveiling at the New York Film Festival, then a breathtaking scene from the film just released by Twentieth Century Fox Film should do the job.
Based on Yann Martel's bestselling 2001 sensation, "Life of Pi" centers on a young man's unbelievable tale of survival at sea, alone in a lifeboat, save for a bengali tiger named Richard Parker.

In the clip, Pi (played by newcomer Suraj Sharma) solemnly writes a message for help from a self-made life raft, as Richard watches on from the boat not far away. Featuring a sampling of the hauntingly evocative score by Mychael Danna, some jaw-dropping imagery courtesy of cinematographer Claudio Miranda (who got his 3D chops working on "TRON: Legacy"), and remarkable CGI work from the team behind "Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the scene promises that if anything, "Life of Pi" stands a good chance at netting a slew of Academy Award nominations in the technical caterogies.
The film opens wide November 21.
