HBO's upcoming series "Family Tree" will be the first new project from improvised comedy genius Christopher Guest since 2006's "For Your Consideration," that focus group sketch from last year's Oscars aside.
Chris O'Dowd stars in the show as Tom Chadwick, a recently dumped 30-year-old whose decision to seek out and meet the extended members of his family seems to basically function as an excuse to bring Guest regulars like Ed Begley Jr., Michael McKean and Jim Piddock (who's also an executive producer) together with new additions like Nina Conti and Amy Seimetz.
The first teaser released, below, is short, but offers enough of a look at the series to get the sense that this is very much in line with Guest's previous work. The show, a British co-production, will premiere in May and air in the U.K. on BBC Two.
